Here is what you would be responsible for (long list, but as we know in HR it often times is :)):

Talent Acquisition:

  • Assist in developing and executing our recruiting strategy and staffing logistics
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing candidates, job posting, phone screens, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers, arranging drug screens and background checks
  • Complete new hire paperwork and onboarding
  • Consult with hiring managers to develop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill roles
  • Manage and develop key recruiting relationships and participate in recruitment outreach activities
  • Ensure all hiring processes are in compliance with federal/state/local laws
  • Partner with hiring manager to design job descriptions for new roles
  • Develop and track recruitment analytics to help drive recruitment efforts and efficiencies

Benefits Administration:

  • Hold conversations with employees regarding FMLA, short-term disability and long-term disability
  • Conduct the ADAAA interactive process
  • Audit monthly benefit enrollment and benefit invoices

Employee Relations and Performance Management:

  • Conduct New Hire Orientation
  • Conduct check-ins with new hires and their managers at regular intervals during the first 6 months
  • Support managers in the annual performance management process
  • Coach, counsel and guide managers/team leads before executing employee disciplinary actions
  • Train supervisors and employees on using all performance management software
  • Partner with HR Director to handle employee relations issues with managers and employees

Engagement and Retention Efforts:

  • Support employee engagement initiatives
  • Participate in the UEC Fun Committee; lead community involvement efforts, plan and arrange employee events
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve retention
  • Help organize quarterly town hall events
  • Conduct exit interviews

Compliance:

  • Submit annual EEO and Vets reporting
  • Respond to unemployment inquiries and verification of employment requests
  • Maintain company organizational chart
  • Maintain current and complete personnel files
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law
  • Manage workers’ compensation insurance policies, audits and claims
Safety:
  • Work safely and follow all company rules and procedures
  • Complete all required safety training
  • Attend and participate in all safety meetings
  • Report any safety concerns observed

This role is for you if you:

  • Are safety focused and properly use your PPE
  • Have 4-6 years of human resource experience as an HR Generalist or HRBP
  • Have a bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Are decently savvy with Excel (manipulate data dumps, basic pivots), HRIS (including reporting) and ATS, as well as of course Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

To ensure you can do the job safely, we have some minimum physical demands requirements:

  • This is largely a sedentary role that operates in a clerical office setting; however, some time will be spent in our Production Shop
  • Lift or move up to 25 lbs
  • Squat, bend or stoop
  • Push, pull and overhead reach
